I really don't have one best, because I have an equally good time in there class. Prof Curtis Paul in Math, and Prof. Hagoo, Prof McIhenny, and R Lorentz of Computer Science. I always left their class with thinking about there lectures.

The best prof I ever had, and the best prof at CSUN is Professor Hussain in Religious Studies. I've taken three courses with him, RS 150, RS 311, and RS 365, and he is just awesome! He really cares about his students, which sets him apart from other profs who are just as smart, but don't care or can't share their expertise with students.

Professor Turnmyer and Professor Masequesmay are great! My first experience with the AAS staff were these two and it makes me want to take more AAS classes. They encourage participation and getting to know others in class, so it makes the class more enjoyable and less stressful.

My best professor has been PAS Prof. Johnny Scott. He's strict but shows you the ropes of college. After passing his class I can do anything.

I agree that the best professor at CSUN is Professor Amir Hussain. I took his RS 150 course last year, and it was the best course I have ever taken at CSUN. It was interesting, and informative.

Most of my professors here have been fabulous, but the one that first came to mind was Dr. Salas, my piano instructor. She is so energetic, helpful and encouraging, and works my tushy off at the same time. Dr. Salas always has a smile and a compliment for everyone, a hug for anyone who needs one and is incredibly easy to talk with in and out of the classroom. She treats everyone with respect and expects her students to do the same. She loves her job, tells us so, and if you don't believe it after watching her in action, you need to call a proctologist to help you find your head.

Johnnie Scott was by far the best professor I had at CSUN. He is a disciplinarian and a little crazy - eg has students writing final papers in five or six bluebooks - but is able to instill work ethic. He is passionate about teaching, very approachable, and truly cares for his students. I took a class about jazz musician John Coltrane with him in 2001, and it was one of the best experiences of my CSUN career. Take Johnnie Scott - highly recommended for all (including the slackers)!!!

A Tribute to Dr. K. Omar Zahir, Prof. of Chemistry (Spring of '92 & '93) -- a photo is at http://www.csun.edu/chemistry/ We were directed to figure out how to operate the machinery by reading the instructions & ask for help later. I spent 2 or 3 days examining a Polaro-graph's buttons, where-upon Dr. Z. volunteered unbidden assistance (during an occasional visit to the lab.). This encourages self-reliance & avoidance of a yataghan-chop. I told Dr. Z. about a problem with the Polaro-graph (it produced flat graphs). He approved the placement of a note to augment the inadequate instructions. He granted another hour to finish the experiment. Thus effort makes life sweet. [Chem.-Prof. David A. Miller admitted that he knew of the unspecified lever.] So "Blessings, ad infinītum" to Dr. K.O. Zahir and his four wives!

Brian Foster for Humanities. He's teaching style is excellent, and I learned more from him and his course material than any professor I've had. He introduced me to numerous ideas that I am greatful for. If you're ever taking humanities, take him.
Also, Proffesor Miyuki. I had him for Buddhism, and although many students complain that they can't understand him, or that his course material is difficult, he is an amazing man with a good heart. You will learn a lot about the true meaning of Buddhism, or life in general, and yourself if you take this course. Just remember, an easy class isn't worthy of being called a class at all

By far the best professor I have had at CSUN, and in my life, was Jackie Stallcup. She makes the material interesting and relates it to your everyday life. She knows her stuff, but doesn't talk down to you. Take her if you can!

I agree with Meg B that Dr. Salas is the best. Also, Gee Rabe, the steel drum teacher is a lot of fun. Because of her class I have become more confident and outgoing as well as learned how to play new instruments (not to mention getting in shape lifting those drums!)
